Gene Moore said he saw a group of about eight teenagers having a snowball fight and causing a ruckus outside his townhouse complex Sunday night when he took out the garbage. About 15 minutes later, he said, he and his family were shocked to find a car apparently driven by one of the youths had come to an abrupt stop in the wall of his townhouse near where his wife was watching television.

Muskego - A WDJT-TV (Channel 58) engineer told Muskego police Monday that the loss of the live transmitting van that broke through an iced-over channel on Big Muskego Lake would be up to $250,000. Crews chipped away ice Monday from the submerged news van, which broke into the channel while the station was preparing a segment on snowmobiles and ice safety.

Wisconsin has long been considered a leader in efforts to protect the environment through conservation and preservation policies. After all, the founder of Earth Day was former Gov. Gaylord Nelson. Now, Gov. Jim Doyle wants to make Wisconsin a leader in developing policies that will protect the environment by changing the way people use energy. Legislators have to make sure that those policies are effective, of course, but Doyle is headed in the right direction.
