Nfl Meetings Notes League Tweaks Draft Order Playoffs Will Be Part of Mix

Dana Point, Calif. -- Winning playoff games is the goal of every NFL team, but those who do will have to pay a price when it comes to the annual draft. On the final day of the NFL owners meetings, clubs approved a proposal that would reseed the draft order starting with teams that made the playoffs.

Nfl Owners Want More of Real Deal Goal Is to Cut Number of Exhibition Games

Dana Point, Calif. -- If the National Football League continues on its current path, exhibition games will take another step toward extinction. And while that might come as good news for those tired of paying full price for half-baked games, it's not the only reason the league is considering adding more games that count to the schedule.

Game Report Raptors 115, Bucks 106

ON THE COURT PLAYER OF THE GAME: Point guard Jose Calderon was outstanding for Toronto, finishing with 19 points and 11 assists. "Calderon had a nice floor game, as usual," said Bucks coach Scott Skiles. "He got into the seams and when we did have help, instead of moving on the pass, we didn't even move until they caught it while they were already up in their shot. With a shooting team like that, it's too late."

Today's Tmj4 Weather 4 March Will Likely End Like a Lion

March is coming to an end, and it certainly looks as if it will go out like a lion. Another low pressure system rolls this way from the west for Friday night and Saturday, and there's another weather system coming for Tuesday of next week. We will probably see rain in Milwaukee on Saturday, but it could mix with a little snow Saturday night. Enjoy the breaks of sunshine through the clouds today as they will be few and far between through the end of the month. I have been asked by folks many t...

Paul A. Smith Bowhunter an Accurate Shot for Continent's Big Game

Brewers Notes a Painful Cut to Make Club Waives Struggling Nixon

Phoenix -- Mike Cameron walked within earshot of Milwaukee Brewers manager Ken Macha during warm-ups and asked Mike Lamb where Trot Nixon was. Not two minutes earlier, Macha had just told a group of reporters Nixon had been released Wednesday, a move that had the skipper emotional and which he called "tough" because of his close ties to the veteran outfielder.

Aeros 4, Admirals 1 Putting West On Ice Low-Key Effort Irks Lambert

Maybe the lead is too big. The Milwaukee Admirals showed no desire in taking a huge step toward clinching the West Division of the American Hockey League in a 4-1 loss to second-place Houston on Wednesday night at the Bradley Center.

Women's Sports Vetter Skates Into Sunset

Madison -- After more than three years and 125 games, University of Wisconsin coach Mark Johnson still recalls vividly the first NCAA tournament start for goaltender Jessie Vetter: A quarterfinal game against visiting Mercyhurst on March 18, 2006.

Brewers Braun's Injury a Concern but Leftfielder Doesn't Seem Too Worried

Phoenix -- How badly injured is Ryan Braun? That was the major question in the Milwaukee Brewers' training camp Wednesday, and nobody seemed to have the answer. Not club officials. Not medical personnel. Not even Braun himself.

Raptors 115, Bucks 106 On a Crash Course Chances for Playoffs Looking Bleak

Toronto -- Kind of hard to figure, isn't it? The Milwaukee Bucks fought their way through their rugged early season schedule and didn't collapse. They saw Michael Redd and Andrew Bogut, two of their best players, go down with injuries yet rallied and stayed in the playoff hunt.
