Summary


Journal Sentinel reporter Crocker Stephenson has won a first- place award in a national writing contest sponsored by the American Association of Sunday and Feature Editors.

Stephenson writes Snapshots, which are brief portraits of everyday people that appear Tuesday through Friday in the Metro section. He won in the short-feature category for his May 28, 2004, Snapshot of Kishon Bartee, a former drug dealer who became paralyzed after a shooting and began expressing his emotions through painting.
