Abrahamson Plans for Re-Election Run; Chief Justice Says She Believes in System

Madison -- State Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson promised to run for re-election Thursday, two days after a challenger knocked a sitting justice off the court in what observers call the nastiest state court race in memory.

"My stress is that I'm delighted the court has had a good reputation in this state and outside, and we're going to work very hard to keep it that way (with) fair, neutral, impartial, nonpartisan resolution of the disputes according to facts and law," Abrahamson said.
