Security around the admissions process to more than a dozen Milwaukee Public Schools high schools will be tightened in the aftermath of an unsolved tampering scandal at Rufus King High School, MPS officials said Thursday.

Officials reported this week that three students were admitted for this fall to the prestigious school based on upgraded scores on their entrance applications. The three and one other student were also allowed to improperly take part in an "open gym" session at the school while they were eighth-graders at other schools in the Milwaukee area.
