Amie's Law' On the Books; Legislation Allows Notification of Juvenile Sex Offenders

Summary


Waukesha Registered sex offenders such as Waukesha's Joshua Wade who commit assaults as juveniles will no longer be exempt from community notification after Gov. Jim Doyle signed "Amie's Law" Monday.

Named for Wade's first known victim, Amie Zyla, now 17, of Waukesha, the new law gives law enforcement another tool to help keep citizens safe from dangerous sexual predators, Doyle said during a signing ceremony at the Waukesha Teen Center.
