Bishop-elect William P. Callahan, a former pastor who loved being involved with the lives of everyday people while at the Basilica of St. Josaphat, was ordained an auxiliary bishop in Milwaukee's Catholic cathedral Friday.

At 57, he was years and miles away from his childhood roots in Chicago's Bridgeport neighborhood, where he and his cousins played with the late Mayor Richard J. Daley's kids.
