Summary

My first thought was that the dark figure roughly 60 yards up the ski trail was a metal sculpture or cut-out of a moose.

After all, having limited most of my outdoor explorations to Wisconsin, I'm much more familiar with the large animals as lawn ornaments than actual wildlife. I probably would have recognized the creature sooner if it had been painted orange and mounted just off the interstate.
