A credit union with ties to Harley-Davidson Inc. is trying to soften the blow of layoffs in Wisconsin that have resulted from a strike by workers at Harley's York, Pa., plant.
This week, Harley laid off 440 employees in Wisconsin - including about 200 in the Milwaukee area - because the strike in York has slowed production at the company's engine and transmission plants. More layoffs could occur.See the full content of this document
