Culver's is rolling out a smaller prototype restaurant that will fit into urban neighborhoods, as the fast-food restaurant chain expands in large cities around the Midwest and in Texas.

The new restaurants seat 98 people, compared with the 120-seat design now prevalent among Culver's 320 locations in 16 states. The first of the small restaurants will open in Fort Dodge, Iowa, in late spring.
