Hartford City officials have renewed their intent to control development in bordering towns, as the area continues its hearty growth.

The Common Council this week passed a resolution that says the city intends to prepare a comprehensive zoning ordinance, using its so-called extraterritorial zoning jurisdiction, to regulate land use in most of the Town of Hartford and parts of the towns of Addison, Herman, Rubicon and Ashippun in Washington and Dodge counties.
