U.S. Economy On Cusp of Moderate Growth; Barring Shocks, Market to Expand in '07, Analysts Say

The stock market appears poised for further gains and the economy should grow at a moderate pace in 2007, the chief investment strategist for Robert W. Baird & Co. said Friday.

Unless there is another surge in oil prices or a drastic drop in the value of the U.S. dollar, the Gross Domestic Product should increase in the 2.5% to 3% range next year, said Bruce Bittles, who issued his 2007 outlook report for the Milwaukee-based investment firm.
