Rain Delays I-43 Crossover; Northbound Traffic Will Move to Southbound Lanes

A freeway lane "crossover" has been delayed one day on account of rain, the state Department of Transportation announced Wednesday.

As a result of rain Tuesday night, the shift of northbound I-43 traffic will start Friday morning, rather than today, said Brian Manthey, spokesman for the team running the Marquette Interchange reconstruction project. The crossover will run two-way traffic in the newly rebuilt southbound lanes, starting between State St. and Highland Ave., with northbound traffic returning to its own lanes at Walnut St.
