The cars sitting a few yards from the Lake Michigan lakefront Sunday were vintage art on wheels, each one meticulously restored and fervently maintained, waiting to be inspected several times over and scored by a team of judges.
The spectacle was brilliant enough to make spectators who didn't pay the $15 to get into the show, or who didn't know they were witnessing a "Concours d'Elegance," stop walking or biking along the lakefront path Sunday afternoon, sling their arms over the chain link fence, and watch one colorful winner after another rumble across a grass stage to collect a shiny trophy that dulled in comparison to the car.See the full content of this document
