A 33-count federal grand jury indictment issued Tuesday alleges a former union leader and his successor conspired to embezzle more than $50,000, then refused to disclose required financial reports to the federal government.

The defendants, Danny L. Iverson, 50, and Debra M. Timko, 41, both of Milwaukee, are former presidents of the Milwaukee-based Service Employees International Union Local 150, a labor organization that represents employees of service industries ranging from stadium workers to nursing home attendants.
