The number of homes sold in metro Milwaukee dropped by 11% in July, and the number of houses put on the market fell by almost as much, according to new figures released by the Metro Multiple Listing Service.

So far this year, the number of homes sold is down 21.4% compared with 2007 -- and 30.1% behind 2006 sales.
