Making one of the largest charitable commitments in Milwaukee history, real estate developer Joseph Zilber on Tuesday gave Marquette University a huge boost and set the stage for announcements in coming days of other large gifts.

Zilber announced that he was committing $50 million "to charities, organizations and institutions in our city who I believe can lead us on the path to achieving a new potential for Milwaukee."
