Hartford Goes to the Mat for Little Ten Title

Wauwatosa -- Three teams entered the Wisconsin Little Ten Conference wrestling tournament with hopes of winning the area's toughest conference meet.

In the end, it was the Hartford Orioles, ranked second in the area, who crushed the competition for the second straight season.

Hartford's strong showing in the semifinal and championship rounds highlighted the Orioles' fourth consecutive tournament championship, earned Saturday afternoon at Wisconsin Lutheran College.

Hartford claimed five champions and was the only team to have all 14 of its entrants score team points. The Orioles had a winning total of 235.5 points. Seventh-ranked Watertown had three champions but finished a distant second with 180.5 points, followed by sixth- ranked Beaver Dam (159.5, two champions).
