New Hearing Ordered in Slaying Case Court to Decide If Teen Will Be Charged As Child or Adult

The state Court of Appeals on Tuesday ordered a new hearing into whether a teenager who was 15 when charged with bludgeoning a man to death should be tried as an adult or a juvenile.

Corey J. Kleser, now 18, was initially charged with first-degree intentional homicide as an adult in the death of Ronald O. Adams, 57, on Oct. 29, 2006. But after a lengthy hearing in September 2007, Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Mary Triggiano ordered Kleser to be tried as a juvenile in Children's Court.
