Summary
The graphic novel lately has come into its own, and Jessica Abel comes to town this month riding on that crest. Abel, who lives in Brooklyn with her husband, cartoonist Matt Madden, will present parts of her first full-length graphic novel, "La Perdida."
It is a full-blooded, emotional story about 20-something Carla, who travels to Mexico City to discover her true identity and finds a self she hardly recognizes. Carla's adventures take her into the world of would-be revolutionaries and small-time drug dealers where she catches the eye of a drug don. There's a kidnapping and other devastation that quickly open Carla's eyes.See the full content of this document
