Elkhorn -- Asked to choose between homicide and suicide, a jury decided Thursday that an adulterous Mark Jensen, a man they came to perceive as cold and unemotional, murdered his wife by having her drink antifreeze and that Julie Jensen, though depressed, loved her family too much to drink the poisonous green liquid herself.

The verdict came after 32 hours of deliberations over three days - - by jurors who said they were split at the start -- and nearly 10 years after Julie Jensen was found dead in her bed.

It means that after losing their mother, the couple's two sons, ages 12 and 18, now will see their father sentenced to life in prison.
