The Republican legislator who has been one of the state's biggest economic development champions did not include any incentives for southeastern Wisconsin in his proposal to encourage growth in the state.

Sen. Ted Kanavas (R-Brookfield) on Tuesday called for moves, such as a slight cut to the state income tax rate, an expansion of existing tax credits for investments in young Wisconsin businesses and tax credits for established companies trying to develop new technologies or reposition themselves in the market.
