La Crosse Democratic U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl on Saturday blasted President Bush for his execution of the war in Iraq but said he does not support setting a deadline to withdraw troops, as Wisconsin's other senator, Democrat Russ Feingold, has advocated.

"I don't think (we're) well served by saying by November or December, all the troops will be gone, because then we might well leave behind a situation that is totally unmanageable (that was) created by us," he said at the La Crosse Center at the state Democratic Party convention.
