Summary


Some people think of America as the big melting pot, the land of the free and the home of the brave. When I think of America . . . I think back when America went through tragic times, times of slavery, wars and racism. I think of the people that died for Americans of all races to have the rights that they have now.

Many people in America today aren't thankful to be living in such a brilliant country. America isn't perfect, but it could be if there was an end to the hate and the thoughts of hatred. There are people who still are affected by racism and other prejudices today, but this is because they can't seem to find a new attitude. When I talk to some kids, they speak about their people going through slavery and they hate all white people for it. I don't think that this is fair. How can you hate all white people and not all of them were there during slavery?
