Rick Rechlicz was elected village president of Menomonee Falls in 2005 largely because of his experience in government and his promise to return some calm to public affairs in the village after the stormy tenure of his predecessor, Jefferson Davis. Rechlicz has kept that promise and has done a solid job in those two years. He deserves re-election Tuesday over Davis, who is trying to make a comeback in village politics.

We have not agreed with every decision made by the Village Board in those two years - in particular, the decision to take garbage service off the property tax rolls and charge a fee instead - but all in all, the board and Rechlicz have done a consistent job of managing both services and the village's finances.
