Milwaukee County Circuit Judge David Hansher said he is "leaning toward granting a mistrial" for Dionny Reynolds, who was convicted after a weeklong trial last month in the 2004 shooting death of an undercover state drug agent.

Reynolds, who faces life in prison if the first-degree homicide conviction stands, will get a new trial if Hansher grants a mistrial. A Thursday morning hearing on the issue which had not been published on the court system's public calendar focused on the unorthodox circumstances in which a jury convicted Reynolds.
