There is no truth to the rumor that the area's best female high school basketball players went running to the nearest salon to get their locks chopped, but if anyone saw the work of Marquette University guard Courtney Weibel and center Kelly Lam on Saturday, such measures would be understandable.

Both Marquette women's basketball players recently cut 8 inches of their hair and donated it to the Beautiful Lengths campaign in support of breast cancer survivors. Coincidentally, both women came off the bench Saturday to play enormous roles in leading the Golden Eagles to victory in MU's third annual "Pink Out" game for breast cancer awareness.
