In what the district attorney said is the first use of the "Len Bias law" in Washington County, prosecutors filed a homicide charge against a man whose co-worker died of a drug overdose.

Richard S. Dinkelmann, 40, of the 100 block of Bridge St. in Mayville, was charged with first-degree reckless homicide as a repeat felon, which carries a maximum prison term of 46 years.

He gave methadone to Robert S. "Itchy" Iczkowski, 21, who died Jan. 24, 2004, in his home in the 3700 block of Division Road, according to a criminal complaint.
