Madison The state Assembly Thursday passed a bill that would require ethanol to make up 10% of regular-grade gasoline, but the measure faces an uncertain future in the Senate.

The Assembly also passed AB 850, which would put in place less restrictive regulation of piers on lakes and rivers than what the state Department of Natural Resources proposed.

Assembly Passes Ethanol Fuel Measure; Lawmakers Also Approve Modified Pier Rules

The ethanol bill, AB 15, would require regular-grade gasoline at pumps throughout Wisconsin to contain 10% ethanol, but midgrade and premium gas wouldn't be affected. After much discussion and a bipartisan vote, the Assembly approved it on a 54-38 vote.
