The Jewish Chaplaincy Program, which has provided pastoral care for patients in area hospitals and holiday services for special- needs adults for the last 40 years, is scheduled to end this summer, the latest victim of the downturn in the economy.
The Milwaukee Jewish Federation's executive committee voted last month to discontinue the program as part of budget cuts forced by the drop in charitable giving. The federation has estimated that its 2009 fund-raising campaign will bring in less than $6.9 million, about 10% below the $7.6 million collected last year.See the full content of this document
