Madison -- The Assembly on Wednesday passed a bill that would require hospitals to provide emergency contraception to victims of sexual assault.

The bill has been debated for years in the Legislature and was tentatively approved by the Assembly in December. But legislators who oppose abortion delayed a final vote. They say the bill could prevent a fertilized egg from implanting.
