Journal Sees Profit Decline; Media Company's Earnings Drop 59% As Ad Sales Fall

Profit at Journal Communications Inc. plunged 59.5% in the fourth quarter as revenue decreased in the company's publishing, broadcasting and printing services units.

The Milwaukee-based media company, which publishes the Journal Sentinel, said Wednesday that net income was $9.5 million, or 15 cents per share, compared with $23.4 million, or 33 cents, in the fourth quarter of 2006.
