As soon as she moved in, Pat Mueller fell in love with her first apartment in the Martin Drive neighborhood especially the apricot sunrises in the beveled glass of the eastern window. Nineteen years later, she's still a cheerleader for her neighborhood, which is seven minutes west of downtown Milwaukee.

"When I was a little girl, I used to visit my cousins on 44th Street," Mueller said. "There were children everywhere to play with, and we were even allowed to visit the zoo in Washington Park."
