Lake Buena Vista, Fla. - Milwaukee Brewers general manager Doug Melvin spent much of his time at the winter meetings shooting down unfounded trade rumors, which tells you a lot about just how productive the four days were for his contingent.

"We didn't necessarily get accomplished what we wanted to," said Melvin, who hoped to trade one or both of two outfielders, Kevin Mench and Geoff Jenkins, for starting pitching, before the meetings ended Thursday.
