Stepping Into a Summer 'Dream'; Choreographer Wells has Fine-Tuned Classic Ballet

Summary


Summer will come, and sooner than you think, courtesy of the Milwaukee Ballet. The company will revive Bruce Wells' "A Midsummer Night's Dream" Thursday through Sunday. It last danced the piece in 1991. Wells created it for the Boston Ballet in 1984.

"In ballet, we don't have the luxury of the out-of-town tryout or previews," Wells said, during a rehearsal break at the company's Walker's Point studios. "I've been lucky enough to have this piece in my life for nearly 25 years. Eight companies have done it, and I've restaged it 15 times."
