Today's Tmj4 Storm Team January has Produced Plenty of Cold, Snow

Summary

We have survived the first half of the coldest and snowiest month on average for Milwaukee, but it has been quite a ride. While Sheboygan County got the most snow from December's onslaught of storms, Kenosha County received the brunt of it this month. At the airport in Milwaukee, snowfall has been average in January with nearly 9 inches, but temperatures have been a real roller-coaster ride. The bitter cold air that rolled in on Wednesday dropped temperatures lower than 10 degrees below zero in the city, colder than all of last winter season.

Snowfall so far is also well above average, and at a pace ahead of last year's incredible season. Currently we are at 47 inches of snowfall, just 5 inches below the average for the whole season and 24 inches above average through the current date. At the same time last year in Milwaukee we had had 33.3 inches of snow, and the season ended with nearly 100 inches.
