Waukesha As psychiatric patient Wendy L. Snyder lay dead in her room at Waukesha Memorial Hospital from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, responding police officers say they encountered difficult hospital administrators who demanded they disarm themselves and who made it difficult to interview the worker who found the 43-year-old Summit woman, according to police reports released Thursday.

Police say they became upset when summoned to the hospital about 3:15 p.m. Feb. 23 to recover a shell casing that was found, only to learn that a shooting had actually occurred, the reports say.
