Too Much Water for Even a Speedboat

Summary


A 19-foot speedboat that was washed down the Milwaukee River and left perched atop the Mequon-Thiensville Dam was among the casualties of flooding, but streets reopened, residents returned to evacuated apartment buildings and the job of estimating damages continued last week.

Complete damage assessments won't be possible until the flood waters recede further, but preliminary estimates put the damages at $2.5 million in Mequon and $1 million in Thiensville.
