Southeastern Wisconsin must expand the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee's engineering school as a way to "transform the region economically," UWM Chancellor Carlos Santiago said Thursday.

"It's really about the future of the region," Santiago told the UW System Board of Regents in Milwaukee, where he made his case to build a new research park and engineering campus on unused Milwaukee County property in Wauwatosa.
