Village Won't Borrow for Roads Germantown Will Cut Budget for Funding

Germantown -- Village trustees opted last week not to put a road reconstruction referendum on the November ballot, deciding instead to try to find enough budget cuts to fund road maintenance.

But Village Administrator David Schornack said a day after Tuesday's special meeting that the village's budget picture looks grim and that it would be very difficult to boost money for roads without making other major budget changes, such as creating new fees or laying off employees.
