Community activists, church leaders, police and prosecutors, meeting in small discussion groups Friday afternoon, talked about ways to reduce violence and restore community to Milwaukee.

When it was time for them to share with the larger group of 300 people crowded into a room at the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center, each offered a short list of things that need to be addressed: jobs and living wages, affordable housing, adequate social services and people simply getting to know each other, whether in a neighborhood or among community agencies.
