Madison - Much like the Big Ten Conference race was a contest between the University of Wisconsin's experience and Ohio State's youth, the race for the league's player of the year award boils down to a Badger and a Buckeye at opposite ends of the spectrum.

Wisconsin's Alando Tucker is a fifth-year senior forward who was one of the league's most explosive and clutch offensive players. Ohio State's Greg Oden is a 19-year-old freshman center who dominated the defensive end of the floor.
