Prince got through his entire halftime set at Super Bowl XLI without once fumbling his guitar and having it recovered by a groupie, which alone put his performance substantially above the first-half standard set by both the Bears and the Colts.

The halftime show, like the game, will likely be remembered as much for the conditions as the performance itself. Prince worked through a driving rain with puddles forming on the giant stage, itself sculpted in the familiar symbol that Prince adopted for a name and an emblem through most of the '90s.
